Accident insurance

If you are injured in an accident and suffer permanent functional impairment, you will receive compensation. The insurance does not cover disability resulting from dental injuries, or disability below 15% for scars and disfigurement. The sum insured is between NOK 500,000 and NOK 2 million, depending on the degree of disability. If an accident results in more than 50% medical disability, double compensation is paid – up to NOK 4 million.

Necessary treatment expenses in the Nordic countries following an accident are covered, such as dental treatment, GP co-payments, chiropractic treatment, physiotherapy, pre-approved CT or MRI scans, medication, and medical supplies. Travel expenses related to necessary treatment are also covered. Dental injuries caused by chewing or biting, and treatment at private healthcare institutions or by private practitioners without reimbursement rights, are not covered.

In the event of death caused by an accident, compensation of NOK 100,000 is paid, mainly intended to cover funeral expenses. Psychological first aid is provided if you experience an acute psychological crisis due to a serious accident or other serious incident. You may receive up to 10 sessions with a psychologist.
