Horse insurance

 The insurance covers accidents and illness within the Nordic countries. You can choose a coverage amount of NOK 25,000, 50,000, 75,000, or 100,000.
The coverage is valid as long as the horse is alive. Illnesses that existed or arise within 20 days after purchase are not covered.  

Costs for CT, MRI, or scintigraphy are covered up to the chosen veterinary sum if related to a covered injury or illness.

Dental treatment due to an accident is covered up to the chosen veterinary sum per year.

Basic, Standard, and Super: Lameness caused directly by an accident is covered.
Standard and Super: Coverage also includes bacterial joint infections, laminitis, tying-up syndrome, hoof diseases, edema, abscesses, acute myositis, anaplasma, and bacterial infections in tendon sheaths/bursae.
Super: Also covers radiographic changes in bones (6-month waiting period) and in the neck/spine (12-month waiting period).

Medication prescribed or provided by a veterinarian is covered up to the selected annual veterinary sum.  

Standard: Allergy diagnostics and treatment are covered up to NOK 15,000 during the horse’s lifetime.
Super: Allergy diagnostics and treatment are covered up to the chosen veterinary sum annually.

Veterinary travel expenses are covered up to NOK 1,500 per treatment.

Physiotherapy and rehabilitation prescribed or performed by a veterinarian are covered if treatment starts within one year of the injury.

Radiographic changes in bones are covered with a 6-month waiting period. Changes in the neck and spine are covered with a 12-month waiting period.  

If no claims are made during a policy year, NOK 10,000 will automatically roll over to the next year.
